1. Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is an American national park in northwestern Wyoming. Atapproximately 310,000 acres (480 sq mi; 130,000 ha; 1,300 km2), the park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole.

2. Arches National Park
Arches National Park lies north of Moab in the state of Utah. Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, it’s known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, such as the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. Long, thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north. Other geological formations include Balanced Rock, towering over the desert landscape in the middle of the park. 

3. Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park is on Washington\’s Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest. The park sprawls across several different ecosystems, from the dramatic peaks of the Olympic Mountains to old-growth forests. The summit of glacier-clad Mt. Olympus is popular with climbers, and hiking and backpacking trails cut through the park\’s rainforests and along its Pacific coastline.

4. Kluane National Park
Kluane National Park and Reserve is in the southwest of the Yukon, in Canada. It’s a vast wilderness of ice fields, forests and towering peaks like Mount Logan. Trails include the King’s Throne, which winds above Kathleen Lake to a dramatic cirque. The glacier-fed Alsek River snakes through areas inhabited by grizzly bears. The park also shelters Dall sheep and more than 100 bird species.

5. Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, straddling the border of California and Nevada. It’s known for its beaches and ski resorts. On the southwest shore, Emerald Bay State Park contains the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Along the lake’s northeast side, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes Sand Harbor Beach and Spooner Lake, a gateway to the long-distance Tahoe Rim Trail.
