Most Visited Countries in Oceania & Why?

Most Visited Countries in Oceania & Why?

Australia- Australia, officially the Commonwealth of Australia, is a sovereign country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the largest country in Oceania and the world\’s sixth-largest country by total area. Australia is globally famous for its natural wonders, wide-open spaces, beaches, deserts, \”The Bush\”, and \”The Outback\”. Australia is one of the world\’s most highly urbanised countries; it\’s well known for its attractive mega cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.

New Zealand- New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It consists of two main landmasses—the North Island and the South Island —and more than 700 smaller islands, covering a total area of 268,021 square kilometres. The land of the long white cloud, New Zealand is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, from lofty mountain peaks and glaciers to mesmerizing blue lakes. It\’s also known for its wine, lupins and rugby, as well as its adventure activities and gorgeous train journeys.

Fiji- Fiji, a country in the South Pacific, is an archipelago of more than 300 islands. It\’s famed for rugged landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons. Its major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, contain most of the population. Viti Levu is home to the capital, Suva, a port city with British colonial architecture. The Fiji Museum, in the Victorian-era Thurston Gardens, has ethnographic exhibits. Fiji is known as the \’Soft Coral Capital of the World\’, with the Great Astrolabe Reef surrounding its 333 islands and atolls, so an underwater adventure should be high on your to-do list when visiting Fiji. If you\’re a keen diver, you can experience hundreds of different species of fish and coral.

Papua New Guinea- Papua New Guinea, in the southwestern Pacific, encompasses the eastern half of New Guinea and its offshore islands. A country of immense cultural and biological diversity, it’s known for its beaches and coral reefs. Inland are active volcanoes, granite Mt. Wilhelm, dense rainforest and hiking routes like the Kokoda Trail. There are also traditional tribal villages, many with their own languages. Papua New Guinea is a country known for its abundant resources, warm people and a land where modern luxuries like electricity and running water are still not readily available to all. This is all true – but it ignores the nuance and complexity of what\’s easily one of the most diverse nations in the world.

Samoa- Samoa, officially the Independent State of Samoa and until 1997 known as Western Samoa, is a Polynesian island country consisting of two main islands, two smaller, inhabited islands, and several smaller, uninhabited islands, including the Aleipata Islands. The capital city is Apia. Samoa is renowned for its amazing natural scenery, cool beaches, mountain and hills, and aquatic life. More specifically, let\’s take a look at the 10 things that make the country so famous. Togitogiga Waterfall is a famous waterfall that used to be the swimming hole for the great warriors of Samoa years back.

Palau- Palau is an archipelago of over 500 islands, part of the Micronesia region in the western Pacific Ocean. Koror Island is home to the former capital, also named Koror, and is the islands’ commercial center. The larger Babeldaob has the present capital, Ngerulmud, plus mountains and sandy beaches on its east coast. In its north, ancient basalt monoliths known as Badrulchau lie in grassy fields surrounded by palm trees. The Republic of Palau, a tropical archipelago in the western Pacific, is renowned for its matchless island scenery, pristine dive sites, and world-famous natural features, including the forest-tufted Rock Islands and surreal Jellyfish Lake.

Vanuatu- Vanuatu is a South Pacific Ocean nation made up of roughly 80 islands that stretch 1,300 kilometers. The islands offer scuba diving at coral reefs, underwater caverns and wrecks such as the WWII-era troopship SS President Coolidge. Harborside Port Vila, the nation’s capital and economic center, is on the island of Efate. The city is home to the Vanuatu National Museum, which explores the nation’s Melanesian culture. The most extraordinary feature of Vanuatu\’s underwater world is not just the superb visibility, warm water, or easily accessible dive sites, but the incredible diversity of diving and dive sites. Diving on Vanuatu is very easy. Most reefs begin in shallow water and drop away to varying depths.
