Escape To & Explore Germany

Escape To Germany

Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches. It has over 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to art and nightlife scenes, the Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and beer halls, including the 16th-century Hofbräuhaus. Frankfurt, with its skyscrapers, houses the European Central Bank.

From the fairy-tale castles and medieval villages of Bavaria to the Rhine Valley\’s UNESCO-listed landscapes and the storied monuments of Berlin, Germany has many faces. Steeped in history, cities like Cologne, Frankfurt, and Hamburg are also among the coolest cultural hubs in Europe. With an interesting and rich history narrated by the old-fashion and colorful architecture, castles, palaces, monuments, its landscapes, mountains and forests, delicious food and beer, Germany remains one of the top destinations in the world for travelers.

3 Most Visited Countries in Germany:

1. Berlin– Berlin, Germany’s capital, dates to the 13th century. Reminders of the city\’s turbulent 20th-century history include its Holocaust memorial and the Berlin Wall\’s graffitied remains. Divided during the Cold War, its 18th-century Brandenburg Gate has become a symbol of reunification. The city\’s also known for its art scene and modern landmarks like the gold-colored, swoop-roofed Berliner Philharmonie, built in 1963. Noted for its cultural flair, Berlin is home to the world famous Berlin Opera and BerlinPhilharmonic Orchestra, while its diverse art scene encompasses hundreds of galleries, events, and museums, including those on Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

2. Frankfurt– Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that\’s home to the European Central Bank. It\’s the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later  rebuilt. Frankfurt may be best known as the business and finance capital of Germany, but it is also one of the most desirable cities to live in and visit. With a rich collection of museums, historic buildings and a lively art and culture scene, Frankfurt is a surprisingly impressive place for a weekend break.

3. Munich– Munich, Bavaria’s capital, is home to centuries-old buildings and numerous museums. Munich is one of the world\’s great beer and brewing capitals of Europe. Munich is one of Germany\’s strongest economic centres; blessed with a central European location near the Alps with plenty of green spaces and a sophisticated cultural life. This is a prosperous big city with a cosy small-town feel, whose residents revel in their hometown\’s pleasant streets and bonhomie. This is best seen in its vibrant beer halls during the annual Oktoberfest or at a beer garden during the summer.
