Top 4 Reasons Why You Should Visit Korea

South Korea, an East Asian nation on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, shares one of the world’s most heavily militarized borders with North Korea. It’s equally known for its green, hilly countryside dotted with cherry tree, plus its coastal fishing villages, sub-tropical islands and high-tech cities such as Seoul, the capital. South Korea is the world leader in internet connectivity. Approximately 92% of the country\’s population are internet users, and they boast the world\’s fastest average connection speed. Taekwondo is the national sport of South Korea. It\’s believed to have been invented approximately 2,000 years ago. Since the 21st century, South Korea has been renowned for its globally influential pop culture, particularly in music (K-pop), TV dramas and cinema, a phenomenon referred to as the Korean Wave.

1. K-pop– If you are like me, someone who loves Korean culture but specially K-pop you should visit Korea and take the time to visit your favorite K-pop group band agency. For example :

• HYBE Corporation (Bighit Entertainment) – Big Hit Music is a South Korean entertainment company established in 2005 by Bang Si-hyuk. It was rebranded as Big Hit Music by its parent company HYBE Corporation, formerly Big Hit Entertainment Co. Ltd., in March 2021. 
• JYP Entertainment – JYP Entertainment Corporation is a South Korean multinational entertainment and record label conglomerate founded in 1997 by J. Y. Park.
• 

  SM Entertainment– SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. is a South Korean multinational entertainment company. It is one of South Korea\’s largest entertainment companies where it was established in 1995 by record executive and record producer Lee Soo-man.

• YG Entertainment– YG Entertainment Inc. is a South Korean entertainment agency established in 1996 by Yang Hyun-suk. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house. 

2. Food– Korean cuisine is the customary cooking traditions and practices of the culinary arts of Korea. Do you love K-dramas and when you watch them and you see that delicious food you start craving it? Here are some K-drama restaurant spots to visit:

3. Fashion & Skin Care–  Korean fashion It is a sort of a relaxed street look, mixing together the aesthetics of rock and hip hop. Especially the top part is often oversized or baggy, though men also like relaxed fit pants and shorts to go with it. While it\’s a very unisex look, girls do wear dresses and skirts that go well with the look, as well. Their belief is that a truly radiant complexion doesn\’t happen overnight by simply treating the skin\’s outer layers. Instead, Korean skincare concentrates on maintaining a healthy, well hydrated and nourished skin environment for results that last a lifetime. One of the reasons that Korean skincare stand out is there high use of natural ingredients. And Koreans use ingredients that are not commonly used by other countries. Snail mucus is a popular ingredient in Korean creams and masks and considered to have a lot of benefits.

4. Explore Seoul on foot– Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is a huge metropolis where modern skyscrapers, high-tech subways and pop culture meet Buddhist temples, palaces and street markets. Notable attractions include futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, a convention hall with curving architecture and a rooftop park; Gyeongbokgung Palace, which once had more than 7,000 rooms. Places you should visit in Seoul:

• N Seoul Tower– The N Seoul Tower, officially the YTN Seoul Tower and commonly known as Namsan Tower or Seoul Tower, is a communication and observation tower located on Namsan Mountain in central Seoul, South Korea. The 236-meter-tall tower marks the second highest point in Seoul. Built in 1971, the N Seoul Tower is South Korea\’s first general radio wave tower, providing TV and radio broadcasting in Seoul. Currently, the tower broadcasts signals for Korean media outlets, such as KBS, MBC and SBS.

• Myeong-dong– Myeongdong is a dong in Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea between Chungmu-ro, Eulji-ro, and Namdaemun-ro. It covers 0.99km² with a population of 3,409 and is mostly a commercial area, being one of Seoul\’s main shopping, parade route and tourism districts. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, Myeong-dong was listed as the ninth most expensive shopping street in the world. 

• The Dongdaemun Design Plaza–  abbreviated as DDP, is a major urban development landmark in Seoul, South Korea designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, with a distinctively neofuturistic design characterized by the \”powerful, curving forms of elongated structures\”. The landmark is the centerpiece of South Korea\’s fashion hub and popular tourist destination, Dongdaemun, featuring a walkable park on its roofs, large global exhibition spaces, futuristic retail stores and restored parts of the Seoul fortress. The DDP has been one of the main reasons for Seoul\’s designation as World Design Capital in 2010. Construction started in 2009 and it was officially inaugurated on March 21, 2014. It is physically connected to Seoul Subway via Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station on Line 2, 4 and 5.

• Lotte World Tower– is a 555.7-metre, 123-story skyscraper located in Sincheon-dong, Songpa District, Seoul, South Korea. It opened to the public on April 3, 2017, and is currently the tallest building in South Korea and the fifth tallest in the world.
