What is the Travel Industry? … This includes services that are directly related to the travel itself, such as transportation, but also includes services related to catering for travellers’ needs and wants after they have arrived at their destination. What do you mean by travel industry?
DEFINITION: Companies that provide various types of travel services, including travel agencies, tour operators, cruise lines, and Internet vacation reservations and services.
What or Who is a Travel Agent? Travel agents offer advice on destinations, plan trip itineraries, and make travel arrangements for clients. Travel agents sell transportation, lodging, and admission to entertainment activities to individuals and groups planning trips. What a travel agent do? Planning and selling travel services. Cooperating with clients to determine their needs and advising them appropriate destination, modes of transportations, travel dates, costs and accommodations.
What makes a great travel agent? Without a doubt, the thing that sets great travel agents apart from other agents (and from online booking sites) is their ability to take care of their clients. … They develop lasting relationships with clients, rather than treating them as another commission check.
