The North Carolina Arboretum is an arboretum and botanical garden located within the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah National Forest at 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, southwest of Asheville, North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nestled in the Southern Appalachian Mountains just south of Asheville, The North Carolina Arboretum offers acres of cultivated gardens and groomed trails featuring some of the most beautiful, botanically-diverse plants in the region.

The botanical garden was a place to raise, maintain, and display numerous plant species. Many scientists used botanical gardens to study the relationships between plants. A botanical garden with a heavy proportion of woody plants and trees is called an arboretum.
Does it cost money to go to the NC Arboretum?
Admission: Free, but there is a parking fee. $16 per personal motor vehicle, $50 15-seat passenger van, $100 motorcoaches. Parking is $7 on the first Tuesday of each month. No charges apply for pedestrians, bicyclists or The North Carolina Arboretum Society members.
I personally loved the experience, is a really beautiful place to enjoy of nature and relax. I loved the variety, it makes you feel like you are in another planet.
